Synopsis
In the last installment, Gregor and the Curse of the Warmbloods, Luxa left her crown with the nibblers – the Underland mice – and told them if they ever needed her assistance, to return it to her. She would do whatever she could within her power to help them.
The crown is returned to her during young Hazard’s 7th birthday party, and Luxa knows that the next prophecy has begun. But this prophecy is more of a mystery than the others. Why are the nibblers disappearing? And is there anything she can do to help?

This is another exciting tale in The Underland Chronicles, where Suzanne Collins paints life so vividly, you can almost believe it’s real.
This installment of The Underland Chronicles is as exciting and adventurous as the previous books, but its ending sets the stage for the final battle between The Bane and Gregor to be concluded in the fifth book, Gregor and the Code of Claw.
Audio Review
Paul Boehmer once again delivers an exciting and realistic portrayal of life in the Underland, bringing all of the characters to life. The CD is a perfect companion for long drives and family fun.

Characters
Gregor – 12 years old, Gregor is our hero. Since his mother has the plague and is confined to the Underland hospital, Gregor and Boots have become regular visitors. They are also once again part of a new prophecy.
Boots – 2 year old Boots is Gregor’s baby sister. She trusts everyone, which is sometimes a good thing and sometimes gets her in trouble. She’s not required on this prophecy, but somehow manages to get involved anyway.
Mrs. Cormaci – Gregor’s widowed neighbor in New York City. She is one of my favorite characters in the series. Gregor finally trusted her enough to tell her about the Underland, and she’s been a true friend to the family ever since.
Luxa – Also 12, Luxa is the queen of Regalia in the Underland, and to stay out of trouble at all costs. But when those who helped her when she needed it the most call to her for help, she cannot – will not – refuse.
Aurora – Luxa’s giant bat and her bond. Where Luxa goes, so does Aurora.
Ares – Ares is Gregor’s bat and his bond, and a true friend. He owes his life to Gregor, Luxa and Aurora, and he won’t let them down.
Ripred – A giant rat and ally to the humans. He is training Gregor in echolocation, something that Gregor isn’t good at and doesn’t want to learn.
Hazard – 7 years old, Hazard is Luxa’s cousin. Because he grew up in the jungle, he has learned many things that the Regalians have not bothered to learn, like what the Marks of Secret really mean.
The Bane – A giant white rat, who has developed a charismatic following among the rats unhappy with their treatment by the humans.
